Amber Olson

Amber4

simulation specialist

Born and raised in Northeast South Dakota, Amber headed west in 2006 shortly after receiving her paramedic certification from Avera McKennan School of EMS in Sioux Falls, SD. Since that time, she has expanded her knowledge and experience by serving in both high volume systems and rural EMS agencies.

She has explored several avenues of teaching including but not limited to pediatric specialty courses, first aid, CPR, ACLS, PALS, and PHTLS.

She has also taught EMT classes extensively and especially enjoys the world of simulation. When teaching and mentoring, Amber can be heard saying, “Progress, not perfection,” and “Practice like you play.” It is her goal to help learners identify realistic, easily-applied concepts that translate to optimal patient care in the field.

When not serving with the ambulance, Amber can often be found pondering her next teaching assignment, researching the newest trends in EMS, or discussing intriguing patient-care scenarios.

In her down time, she enjoys hiking and camping in the wilds of
Montana with her family and friends, gardening, painting, or enjoying the antics of her bunnies, chickens, and cats.
