simulation specialist

AJ grew up in a small town in western Montana.

From a very young age she knew she wanted to go into medicine and care for children. She studied nursing at MSU and after graduation, she worked in critical care before moving into Pediatric ICU nursing. AJ has worked in large children's hospitals and small community hospitals, caring for newborns through young adults.

AJ has always had a strong passion for caring for children in rural or underserved areas and has participated in international medical missions to bring high-quality care to developing countries.

She moved back to Montana 7 years ago when an opportunity opened up to care for Montana's children and keep them at home. AJ recently completed her DNP, and is currently working at MSU. She has been involved in simulation for about 5 years.

AJ's passions are educating others to improve pediatric care across Montana and implementing evidence-based practice into healthcare. Outside of work, her time is spent with my family: hiking, kayaking, and traveling.

In her free time, she mostly hikes, fly-fishes, explores new places and enjoys camping and climbing as well. She also looks for any opportunity to be in or around helicopters!
